Internet

Most hotels and many smaller motels throughout Utah now offer Wi-Fi or other Internet access at no cost to guests. Many coffee shops provide Wi-Fi free of charge (although it's a little harder to find in southern Utah), as do most libraries, which also provide computers with Internet access. There's also free Wi-Fi along Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City.

Phones

To dial any number in Utah you must dial at least 10 digits, including the three-digit area code. The area code for the Wasatch Front (roughly from Ogden to Provo, including Salt Lake City) has always been 801, but new numbers are being assigned with a new 385 area code. The area code 435 covers all the rest of the state. To confuse matters, the "801" district is divided geographically between Salt Lake County and neighboring counties (Utah to the south and Davis to the north)—you must dial "1" if you’re calling between counties but not if you’re calling within one of the counties.
